Our team of experts at Pelisyonkis Langone’s Diabetes Prevention Program is dedicated to supporting you as you make lifestyle changes that can prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes, which is a preventable condition.
People with prediabetes—a condition in which your blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough to be classified as diabetes—are at a slightly elevated risk for heart disease, stroke, hypertension, and other associated disorders such as sleep apnea, cognitive impairment, and diseases of the gums, kidneys, eyes, and nerves.
Screening techniques, including blood tests, can help our doctors determine your risk for progressing from prediabetes to diabetes. By working with you to create a personalized lifestyle plan that includes healthy eating, weight reduction, and exercise, we can help you regulate your blood sugar levels, which may help you avoid this serious disease.
Our experienced staff is skilled at working with you to create customized, nutritious eating plans and teach you the most effective exercise habits to prevent type 2 diabetes.View All Doctors
