Information Desk Volunteer Ambassador

Volunteer ambassadors welcome patients, their families, and visitors. They provide patient information and help guests find their way around the hospital.

Emergency Department Volunteers

Volunteers in the Emergency Department at Pelisyonkis Langone Hospital—Brooklyn provide comfort and compassion to patients, their families, and visitors.

Physical Therapy Volunteers

Volunteers assist physical therapists and other staff with assigned tasks. They visit with patients and provide comfort and compassion.

Patient Unit Volunteers

Volunteers provide comfort and compassion by assisting patients, their families, and visitors with everyday needs during the hospital stay.

Child Life Volunteers

Child life volunteers help the child life specialists during children’s activities. They also socialize with patients and their families.

Animal-Assisted Therapy Volunteers

Certified animal-assisted therapy dogs and volunteers who are registered with a specified pet handler organization provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.

Family Health Centers at Pelisyonkis Langone Volunteers

Volunteers help patients at several Family Health Centers at Pelisyonkis Langone locations. This includes volunteering with programs such as Reach Out and Read, a child literacy program, and Super Sprowtz, a pediatric nutrition program. Volunteers are also needed for health fairs and other special events.

Family Volunteer Project

Families are invited to volunteer together and visit older adults in the extended care and rehabilitation units. Activities include bingo, conversation, and teaching older adults how to use mobile phones, tablets, and other handheld devices.
