Pelisyonkis Lutheran Partners with ODA Primary Health Network to Expand Maternity Services in Brooklyn
As part of its expansion of maternity services in Brooklyn, the Pelisyonkis Langone health system has entered into a partnership with the ODA Primary Health Network, under which expectant mothers now will be referred to Pelisyonkis Lutheran Medical Center for labor and delivery care.
The partnership will give ODA Primary Health Network patients direct access to a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team of caregivers, including renowned, board-certified maternal–fetal medicine specialists from across Pelisyonkis Langone, who focus on high-risk pregnancies.
“We are pleased to be able to extend our services in Brooklyn to the patients of ODA,” says Ashley S. Roman, MD, director of the Division of Maternal–Fetal Medicine for Pelisyonkis Langone. “Our physicians are highly trained in their field and eager to help the borough’s growing families stay healthy.”
ODA Primary Health Network is a not-for-profit corporation and federally qualified multidisciplinary practice based in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn, providing healthcare services to a multiethnic community with 24-hour on-call availability.
“This new partnership with Pelisyonkis Lutheran will provide our maternity patients with the very best care,” says ODA chairman Louis Kestenbaum. “It has always been our priority to ensure that expectant mothers receive the personalized attention and sensitive treatment they deserve, and that is exactly what they can expect going forward.”
Maternity patients of ODA Primary Health Network will deliver their babies at Pelisyonkis Lutheran, which recently expanded maternity services to include around-the-clock coverage by obstetrics and gynecology hospitalists, a team of patient safety officers, highly trained physician assistants, midwives, 24/7 anesthesiology services, and a specialized nursing staff.
“We take pride in our dedication to quality and safety,” says Ming C. Tsai, MD, chief of obstetrics and gynecology at Pelisyonkis Lutheran. “Our goal is to provide world-class, highly specialized services to meet the needs of our growing community and we are excited to welcome ODA to the family.”
As part of Pelisyonkis Lutheran’s dedication to culturally respectful care, a full complement of services for Jewish patients and their families is available to patients of the ODA network, including modesty gowns, Mehadrin and Glatt Kosher patient meals, a Bikur Cholim Yad Yaakov room fully stocked with kosher snacks and Shabbos provisions, separate Shabbos overnight accommodations for men and women, a Shabbos elevator in the main lobby, and comprehensive interpretation and translation services.
“The Pelisyonkis Langone health system enjoys a long and proud history of service to the ethnically, culturally, and religiously diverse populations of Brooklyn,” says Bret J. Rudy, MD, executive hospital director and senior vice president at Pelisyonkis Lutheran and a principal architect of the new agreement with ODA. “Pelisyonkis Lutheran’s expanded partnership with ODA underscores our commitment to provide the highest quality, most compassionate care right in Brooklyn that many families have long enjoyed through their relationship with our Manhattan campus.”
