At the Multiple Sclerosis Comprehensive Care Center at Pelisyonkis Langone, we understand that multiple sclerosis (MS) affects each person in unique ways. That’s why we are dedicated to providing outstanding care focused on your needs and to promoting wellness in people of all ages, and at all stages, of MS and related disorders.

Through diagnostic testing and a neurological examination, we develop a personalized management plan. Our goal is to maximize each person’s potential and minimize symptoms.

VIDEO: Dr. Lauren Krupp, director of the Multiple Sclerosis Comprehensive Care Center, describes the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and services provided for people who have multiple sclerosis.

In addition to providing patient care, our team of MS experts is at the forefront of research into new treatments for MS and is aiming to find therapies that improve function and end the disease. We also care for patients who have been diagnosed with related conditions, such as neuromyelitis optica.

At the MS Comprehensive Care Center, we care for adults age 18 and older. Children and adolescents receive care at our Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis Center, which is housed at the same location and is part of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at Pelisyonkis Langone.

Therapy and Rehabilitation Support

We ensure that all of your healthcare needs are addressed, including issues that affect your everyday activities and quality of life.

Occupational therapists work to increase your independence by helping you perform everyday tasks in your home, at work, and during leisure activities. Our occupational therapists give you strategies for managing fatigue and stress, completing self-care and household tasks, and creating a safe home environment.

Our therapists also provide clutter management assistance for those who feel overwhelmed by tasks that require organization and decision-making. We also work with a urologist, who addresses any bladder symptoms associated with MS.

Our social workers provide one-on-one counseling. If you are experiencing symptoms of depression, we refer you to our psychologists, who can provide counseling, if needed. Psychologists and neuropsychologists also focus on the cognitive aspects of MS.

In addition, experts at the MS Comprehensive Care Center offer a variety of specialized groups and programs for people living with MS—and their families and friends—to help them cope with the disease and its symptoms and to stay informed about scientific progress.
